"The Houston luxury consumer is very knowledgeable of fashion, established and highly relationship-driven," Mauricio Espinosa Tcherassi, chief operating officer at Silvia Tcherassi, told Community Impact in late October, explaining why the Colombian designer chose Houston for her only Texas store. That store is one of four arrivals at River Oaks District announced for "this fall." None of the four has a published opening date.
The dated part of November belongs to the events calendar. The Sunday market is over for the year, the tree lighting is set for November 21 and Le Colonial is open on Thanksgiving for the first time. For anyone who walks over from the neighborhood, November at 4444 Westheimer works best if you plan around the dated events and take any new storefront that opens along the way as a bonus.
The Market, presented by Sterling's Market, ran on the second and fourth Sundays from April 26 through October 25, 2026, with local vendors set up across The Park and District Lane. It was one of the clearest changes since Fertitta Entertainment bought the district. The Houston Chronicle reported the purchase on March 1, 2024, saying the deal had closed that Wednesday. The district's larger redesign of its pocket parks, plazas, sidewalks and signage was announced in 2022 by the prior operator. The Market came under the new owner.
The October 25 finale leaves a gap. Two days later, Adam Lippes hosted a Helena Simon brooch pop-up from 2 to 7 p.m., and after that the calendar skips to a jewelry pop-up in mid-November. The next large gathering on The Park is the tree lighting.
As of late October, the district's events page shows this sequence for November:
The calendar shows nothing after Thanksgiving yet. The tree lighting is the one evening built for crowds, and its 4 p.m. start puts the performance in daylight and the illumination around dusk. Le Colonial's to-go option matters for a neighborhood where many households host Thanksgiving at home. You can bring the restaurant's menu to your own table instead of giving up your table for a reservation.
Here is where each fall 2026 arrival stood at the end of October, based on the most recent published material:
| Arrival | What it is | Latest published timing |
|---|---|---|
| Café Feuillette | First location outside France for baker Jean-François Feuillette | Page reads "Opening Fall 2026" and lists hours as "Opening Soon" |
| Chloé | The French house's first Houston store | Described in June as opening "this fall" |
| Silvia Tcherassi | The designer's only Texas location | Described in August as opening "this fall" |
| Brunello Cucinelli | Expanded boutique; temporary storefront in use meanwhile | Reopening "this fall," per the Oct. 23 report |
Of the four, the café would change a resident's weekday routine the most. Jean-François Feuillette built a network of more than 100 bakeries across France, then launched Café Feuillette as a contemporary coffee shop serving sweet and savory homemade dishes and signature drinks. According to the district, the Houston location will be the first Café Feuillette outside France. Its listing already gives a phone number, (281) 409-9912, and an Instagram handle, @lecafefeuillette_us. Those are the likeliest places to see an opening day first.
PaperCity reported in June that Chloé would make its first Houston move into River Oaks District this fall, in the space Etro used to occupy. Silvia Tcherassi's arrival was covered in August, with the district reposting a Houston Business Journal report that also said "this fall." The October quote that opens this post came from the brand's COO, who also said Houston shoppers "seem less dependent on the traditional 'luxury lifestyle' ecosystem than consumers in New York, Los Angeles or Miami."
Brunello Cucinelli never left the district. The Houston Chronicle reported in May that the brand was investing an estimated $1.8 million to add nearly 2,000 square feet. While the original shop is renovated, the brand is running a temporary storefront. The expanded boutique's return is the most certain of the four, because the business is already operating a few doors from where it will end up.
The Brunello project follows a pattern that has repeated since 2024. Much of the change at River Oaks District has come from tenants that were already there taking more space. Arrivals that are new to Texas account for most of the rest.
Cartier reopened on July 29, 2025, after a full remodel. It is now an 8,000-square-foot regional flagship with two VIP rooms and a bridal salon. Van Cleef & Arpels moved and expanded into a boutique of more than 5,000 square feet that the district announced as open the same day. Patrick Fertitta, a director at Fertitta Entertainment, said in a district release that the brands' "recent openings" reaffirmed River Oaks District as the region's premier shopping destination.
The new names arrived more slowly, about one per season:
Leica's vice president of retail, Gerald Jackson, told Community Impact that the brand picked Houston for "a real appreciation for art, design and visual storytelling here, along with an established community of photographers, artists and collectors." With Opera Gallery already open and Leica's gallery to come, the district is adding places to look at art and photography, not only places to shop.
This will be the district's first holiday season with a new management arrangement. Hines announced on September 29 that Fertitta Entertainment had selected it for property management. According to Shopping Center Business, Hines handles day-to-day operations, tenant relations and the overall guest experience, and Odyssey Retail Advisors handles leasing. The guest experience includes the events calendar, the tree lighting and whatever comes after Thanksgiving.
The district reaches beyond its storefronts. It includes the 279-unit Grey House apartments, an iPIC theater and an Equinox, along with restaurants such as Steak 48, Bari Ristorante, Toulouse and Little Hen. Even with stores still to open, there is plenty to fill a November evening there.
Plan around the fixed dates and check the pending openings as you go.
Fertitta Entertainment has added stores at River Oaks District gradually since its 2024 purchase, and the market season, the holiday calendar and Hines' management have each changed how the district is used.
