Independence Day is one of the most exciting days in the United States! In Houston, you can celebrate our freedom while enjoying parades, carnivals, fireworks, and special ceremonies with your family, friends, or loved ones.
In 2019, CITGO planned an incredible celebration, continuing its tradition from previous years. Houston offered a unique way to celebrate freedom, featuring performances by country music star Jake Owen and country singer Kellie Pickler.
This event marked the largest Independence Day celebration in Houston, Texas. As it coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar mission—the first time humans landed on the moon—NASA also participated, offering space-themed activities and the Destination Station demonstration. The celebration took place at Eleanor Tinsley Park from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
You could also attend the ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights: Star-Spangled Salute at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. The Houston Symphony Orchestra performed at 8:30 pm with free admission, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
If you prefer celebrating during the daytime, you could attend the 4th of July parade in
Bellaire City, which began at 9:30 am. The parade and festival featured food, games, live music, and activities for attendees of all ages.
In addition to these events, Houston hosted many other free ceremonies and parades on July 4th, offering plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends.
