This year has had its up and downs, and we still need to take care of ourselves in order to keep being healthy and enjoying life anywhere in the world. However, since it’s summer and the different places in Houston are aware of this, it’s only natural that most of these places plan something for their beloved people to enjoy, even while staying home!
Virtual events are a huge thing at the moment because it allows people to enjoy something different while they are social distancing and in the comfort of their home. For example, as previously mentioned, Space Center Houston is still offering a Virtual Campout for all the fans of space to enjoy while being in their backyard, at home.
Just like this activity, there are other activities also for children, as the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) is offering a 5-day camp designed to incentive creativity and self-expression, in which the families of the 5 to 12 years old children will be receiving a kit with materials weekly with all the activities to be done during that period; and once the week is finished, there will be a virtual show called Zoom Show and Tell, where they will be able to show their favorite work and talk to other campers.
Also, this summer the Discovery Green park has a lot of events that you can enjoy while being home, such as storytelling, virtual concerts, yoga classes which can help you relax when you need it the most, and you can find more information in their Facebook page; there’s a lot of things available for children and adults! It's important to always find a time in the day to dedicate to yourself and your body. Yoga Classes can help you with this, and will keep you even more healthy while staying at home!
On another note, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) believes that art is an experience that is worth sharing, which is why they have a virtual gallery in Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube, with the name of #MFAHatHome; also, the best virtual experience from this place is in Google Arts & Culture, since there are four virtual museum views that you can comfortably enjoy from home.
Remember to take care of yourself and others this summer, washing your hands, social distancing, and following all the restrictions whenever you go out to buy food.
