There's nothing like starting the day outdoors and the Buffalo Bayou Park is the perfect place for that. Depending on how adventurous they are, they can enjoy this park by bike, walking, running or even in a bayak.
At the end of the tour you can get to know La Cisterna, an old water reserve built in 1929 that was opened to the public some years ago to make known this interesting underground architectural space. The place is also used to exhibit wonderful artistic installations such as Spacial Chromointerference by Venezuelan, Carlos Cruz-Diez that will remain on display until this month!
Finishing the tour, you can enjoy a delicious lunch at the Kitchen at the Dunlavy. A restaurant surrounded by huge windows where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Buffalo Bayou, as well as delight with its delicious dishes.
For dinner there are several options on Houston Avenue, a pedestrian street in this same area that was recently remodeled. Our favorite restaurant is Xochi, located inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Xochi offers a modern space full of authentic flavors thanks to the Oaxacan dishes of the acclaimed Chef Hugo Ortega.
If you like Basketball, you can not miss a game of the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center. It's really fun to go see a live game while enjoying a delicious hotdog.

One of the favorite museums is the Menil Collection. Is highly recommended visiting any of its permanent exhibitions, as well as the new building for drawing classes, Menil Drawing Institute. In this area you can also walk to two chapels that are very worthwhile. The first is called Rothko Chapel, a spiritual space surrounded by immense paintings by artist Mark Rothko. The second one is called Byzantine Fresco Chapel, a very interesting building with itinerant artistic installations.
After a cultural morning, nothing better than a lunch at Bistro Menil. Chef Greg Martin will delight you with dishes of international influence such as his duck salad or his delicious crab cakes.
To end the day you can dine at one of my favorite terraces at the Tiny Boxwoods restaurant. With a very cozy design, in this place you can enjoy a delicious Risotto with shrimp or exquisite charcoal artichokes.

You can not leave Houston without taking a picture next to the new Anish Kapoor sculpture called Cloud Column. This sculpture has become an unmissable visit in Houston and is located within the Brown Foundation Plaza at the Glassell School of Art. The plaza has many outdoor activities that you can enjoy with your family, in addition to the well-known Cullen Sculpture Garden which is located next to the square.
Just cross the street, you will find the Fine Arts Museum that is worth visiting.
Anther favorite place to eat lunch is Local Foods. In this place you will find a great variety of sandwiches, soups and salads in a casual and contemporary atmosphere.
Also you have to enjoy one of the shows in the Theater District that have become a tradition for several years at the majestic Wortham Theater after a year of flooding due to Hurricane Harvey And the second, the Alley Theater to the delight of all its viewers.
