You could easily spend days enjoying the outdoor attractions Houston has to offer. The city has a ton of activities for its residents and visitors, so let's talk a bit about what this great town has in store for those who love some fresh air, for example...
The Mille Outdoor Theatre is one of the better-known attractions in the city. It opens in March all the way until November, presenting a large array of performances that include film, Shakespeare plays, classical music, ballet and dance performances among other things. The theater is in Hermann Park, and it allows you to bring your own beverages. It's the perfect place to set up a picnic while you watch a good show. And this isn't the only venue offering such attractions, the Market Square Park offers summer movie nights for all to enjoy!
Another great option for an outdoor evening would be at Discovery Green Park in Downtown. All around the years there are all sorts of events taking place, from live music to monthly craftsmen markets and ice skating on Kinder Lake for the winter.
Around the west side of Memorial Park, you'll find the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, a sanctuary that shows visitors on plant life protection and all about the local flora and fauna. Its whole five miles of trails are filled with interactive exhibits, you can even bring your dog as well!

You can also catch some sunlight at the James Turrell's "Twilight Epiphany" Skyspace located on Rice Campus. There you'll find a pyramid covered in grass that illuminates and changes color while natural light reflects off its surface. As with the Port of Houston, there’s no charge for entry but you'll need to make reservations.
Now, this last one is a surprise and you'll have to be there to check for yourself. Go behind Downtown's Wortham Theater where Preston Street crosses Buffalo Bayou, and look for a mysterious red button inset in the staircase that leads down to the water. Press the red button and you'll be very glad you did.
