We want to encourage you to go out and enjoy this season to its fullest by giving you some information regarding this seasons Holidays, places to go and activities to do.

Easter Holiday Events

Easter is one of the main Holidays people wait on the spring season, especially for kids who love going Easter egg hunting. This traditional game consists of searching for decorated eggs hidden for children to find. Eggs are placed with varying degree of concealment, to accommodate children of varying ages and development levels. When the hunt is over, prizes may be given out for various achievements.

Originally the egg was a symbol of the rebirth of the earth in pre-Christian celebrations of spring. However, the Easter egg itself was defined by early Christians as an Easter symbol of the resurrection of Jesus ((the egg symbol was likened to the tomb from which Christ arose). However, in modern days, it is more related to a bunny which hides colorful eggs to accommodate it to a concept more suitable for children.

Church Attending

Now entering in more religious subjects we can say that spring is an important month for Christianity as its this time of the year that this religious community embraces themselves and celebrate what it called the Holy Week which takes place the week just before Easter. Holy Week is preceded by Lent, which ends in the Week of Passion where the Eucharist is celebrated on Holy Thursday, the Crucifixion of Jesus is celebrated on Good Friday and the Resurrection at the Easter Vigil during the night of Holy Saturday to Sunday of Resurrection.

Outdoor Picnics at the Best Houston Parks

Picnics are also an excuse to gather with family and friends in a casual setting. Without distractions from home, it’s much easier to savor your meal, the fresh air of spring, and the company of others. Enjoying the pleasures of food and drink with others is one of the pillars of the Mediterranean Diet. Why not take it a step further and pack Mediterranean-themed food too?

Picnic foods should be simple, easy to eat, and not-too-heavy (since picnics usually go hand in hand with extra activities like swimming, hiking, or chasing little ones). There are plenty of carefree Mediterranean dishes that meet these requirements and pack a flavor punch, too.

Spring Break Activities!

Finally its here! Spring break. The blessed week in March when there’s no school and it’s time for some relaxation and ideally catching some rays. Or ya know, going to some overcrowded beach with college co-eds in a state of inebriation where you’re not sure what day it is or when the last time you slept was. The point of spring break is to help you press pause, step back from your stress and obligations, and maybe breathe deeply for the first time in a while.

We get it: you want to spend time with your kids during spring break, but separate hotel rooms don’t equal family bonding. Book a spacious rental in Houston and enjoy amenities like a big backyard and private pool, plus easy access to historic sites, there are too many places to go and have a family break time, you just got to be in the mood to go out on the street and find your place, every corner you will find an option, places to eat, amusement parks, pools, malls and more.

The colorful Holi Celebration

Winter ends, spring arrives and the colors come out. Across India and Nepal, millions of Hindus are celebrating Holi, the joyous festival of color, smearing one another with colored powder and spraying each other with squirt guns. Holi takes place the day after the full moon in March, While its roots are religious, tied in many ways to the god Krishna, Holi is also seen as a celebration of good versus evil, and of a good harvest. it involves a magnificent carnival-like atmosphere with music, dancing and bright colors everywhere!

The Jewish Passover Days

Passover is a celebration of spring, of birth and rebirth, of a journey from slavery to freedom, and of taking responsibility for yourself, the community, and the world. However, strangely enough, none of this taking of responsibility gets done without groaning. It was with groaning that the Hebrews expressed the pain of their ancient enslavement in Egypt more than 3,300 years ago. It was with groaning that they called attention to their plight. Passover commences on the 15th of the Hebrew month of Nisan and lasts for either seven days. The “Seder” is a ceremonial meal that includes a bunch of symbolic foods, usually, a traditional Seder would include discussing the biblical story, drinking four cups of wine, partaking of symbolic foods placed on the Passover Seder Plate and reclining in celebration of freedom.

Spring is not only a season to celebrate religious traditions from different cultures, is also a season for new beginnings, take a mental and spiritual break and re-evaluate your life and your whole situation, spending time with yourself, family and loved ones. and Houston does not get behind on activities and things to keep the citizens active in the community events. Enjoy the most of this year spring season as we keep you updated for the next events to be part here in Houston.
